Statement of faith

We believe in the Bible as the divinely, verbally inspired and inerrant Word of God. It is its own divine authority, infallible and the all-sufficient guide for salvation, Christian life and testimony (2 Tim. 3:16-17; 2 Pet. 1:20-21).

We believe in one God, the Creator of all, eternally existing in three equally divine Persons: The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit (Matt. 28:19; 2 Cor. 13:14)

We believe in the sovereignty of God and in the free will of man to accept and obey or to reject the Gospel (2 Thes. 1:8). In the full deity of the Lord Jesus Christ, that He is true God and true Man, begotten of the Holy Spirit, born of a virgin into perfect and impeccable humanity (Matt. 1:18-25; John 1:1; Phil. 2:6; 1 John 3:5).

We believe that man universally is totally sinful by nature and by practice as the result of the fall in the Garden of Eden, humanity having been tempted and deceived by Satan, a real and personal devil, the arch-enemy of God and man (Gen. 3; Psalm 51:5; 58:3-4; Rom. 3:9-23;
5:12-19). It is impossible for sinful man to be saved from eternal punishment by his own good works, self righteousness or religious observances or rituals (Rom. 4:5; Eph. 2:8-9; Titus 3:5).

We believe in the finished work of Christ on the cross at Calvary. That Christ, through his sacrifice, has effected complete and eternal redemption, having paid the penalty for sin in accordance with the Scriptures (Luke 24:6; Rom. 3:24; 1 Cor. 15:3-4; Rom. 5:6-8; Eph. 1:7). God signified His approval of the finished work of Christ by raising Him bodily from the dead and setting Him at His own right hand in Heaven and by giving Him the name which is above every name. He is the only head of the Church (Eph. 1:20-23; Phil. 2:9-11; Col. 1:18). Christ is the High Priest over the House of God (Heb. 7:20-28; 10:21), the Advocate on behalf of His people (Heb. 7:25-26; 1 John 2:1-2), and the judge of all (Acts 17:31).

We believe in the immediate, present and eternal salvation of each person who acknowledges his own sinful condition and truly believes on Christ and by faith rests upon Christ’s finished work as the only ground upon which a holy and righteous God can forgive sins. Each one who by faith receives the Lord Jesus Christ as Savior is born again of the Holy Spirit, indwelt by Him and baptized in Him with a view to the one Body of Christ, the Church (1 Cor. 12:12-14). The Holy Spirit enables the believer to live a holy life (Gal. 5:16) as he is controlled by Him (Eph. 5:18). The Holy Spirit leads in the worship and service of the Church (John 4:24; 1 Cor. 12:4,7,11).

We believe that the early Church met together and continued steadfastly in the apostles doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers (Acts 2:42) giving us God’s pattern for the Church today. There are two ordinances for the Church: a) The baptism of believers by immersion in water, giving witness of a good conscience (Acts 8:35-39; 1 Pet. 3:21) and b) The weekly celebration by
believers on the Lord’s Day of the Lord’s Supper (Matt. 26:26-28; 1 Cor. 11:23-26).

We believe in the personal, imminent and pre-millennial coming to the air of the Lord Jesus Christ to rapture His Church (1 Cor. 15:51-57; 1 Thes. 4:13-18).

We believe in the bodily resurrection of the just and the unjust; the just (believers) at the rapture of the Church and the review of their life and works (1 Thes. 4:13-18; 1 Cor. 15:22-23); John 5:28-29; Rom. 14:10-12; 1 Cor. 3:11-15); the unjust (unsaved) to stand before the Great White Throne of judgment (John 5:28-29; Rev. 20:11-13) and their everlasting conscious punishment in the lake of fire (Matt. 25:46; Rev. 20:14-15).
